Based on S.E. Hinton's book about teenage gangs in 1966 Tulsa, OK. The "Soc's" [Socials] and the "Greasers," and the struggle of growing up as an outsider.
Three brothers and their friends are on the poor side of the rich-poor divide in their small town. When members of both groups show signs of friendliness to the other, those who want things to stay the way they are seek to punish the transgressors.
